Even prior to providing a $5 million estate commitment to create an endowment fund at his alma mater, Todd Richter was giving back heavily to the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. This new gift -- which designates specific ways for the business school to utilize the money -- is just the tip of the iceberg of Richter’s long-standing dedication to the Kelley School.
Since graduating from there with his Masters of Business Administration in 1981, Richter has actively connected with prospective and new students as well as other alumni toward recruiting efforts for the Kelley School. Executive Director of Development Rick Dupree recently noted that Richter “knows the School inside out, having been an active recruiter of our talent and dedicated alumnus for many years.” Richter serves as a member of the Kelley School Dean’s Council and the Kelley Alumni Association’s Metropolitan New York chapter. He’s also a member of the Indiana University Foundation’s Arbutus Society. He’s a consistent presence with Indiana University, consistently aiding in any way possible as the Kelley School grows. Todd B. Richter has worked with Bank of America for the last 18 years, joining the company in 1999 following nearly two decades at Morgan Stanley. At BoA, he acts as managing director in the global healthcare investment banking group.

Todd B. Richter has worked with Bank of America for the last 18 years, joining the company in 1999 following nearly two decades at Morgan Stanley. At BoA, he acts as managing director in the global healthcare investment banking group. Earning his Masters of Business Administration in 1981, Todd Richter has remained prideful of his alma mater, the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. In the 20 years that followed, Richter gained immense success as one of Wall Street’s leading analysts in the healthcare field. He currently serves as managing director within the global healthcare investment banking group at Bank of America. Recently, Richter turned his decades of success into a growth opportunity for students, staff and more at the Kelley School; he created a $5 million endowment that directly supports educational endeavors within the financial industry at the institution.
The Todd B. Richter Fund supports five specific funding streams with its endowment dollars. This fund offers support to both the Dean’s Office and the Graduate Finance Department. It also creates graduate fellowships for Kelley School students with an active interest in the study of finances or securities. Two professorships are funded as well, specifically awarded to faculty members with extensive experience in the field of securities analysis -- the industry that allowed Richter to flourish. And, lastly, the endowment supports additional requests that fall within the four previously mentioned funding streams, as long as bequest dollars remain. Henry was a stray pup living on the streets of Memphis, Tennessee. He was a small Shih Tzu mix without a home and with a variety of health problems. Henry faced malnutrition, stomach issues and failing health. He also faced euthanization. Only 24 hours remained for Henry. Then Bideawee found him.
This New York City based shelter and rescue organization began in 1903. It was founded by Flora D’Auby Jenkins Kibbe who departed France for America, bringing with her a model founded in Paris that took stray dogs off the street. More than 100 years later, Kibbe’s organization had grown immensely and encountered Henry. As luck would have it, a prominent member of the health field -- including animal health -- would also encounter Henry. Todd B. Richter was en route to a business meeting at Bideawee when Henry crossed his path. His fate was sealed from that point forward. Not only did Henry get the veterinary attention that he needed, but he found a new home with Richter in Manhattan. And now, he’s a building and city celebrity alongside his fur-dad. Richter also discovered a passion for animals. Today, he serves on the Board of Directors for Bidawee, helping other animals find positive futures like Henry did. |
